Social Program

There will be two exciting events on the two evenings, Wednesday and Thursday, during the conference.

Reception in the R1 Reactor (Wednesday, September 4)

At 18.00, we will go underground, 25 meters under KTH. At this exciting and unusual location, we will have a welcome reception, including drinks and a buffet. The R1 reactor was originally Sweden’s first nuclear reactor. It is now dismantled and used as an event space. We will guarantee a lot of exciting discussions and a pleasant environment without any radiation. For more information about R1, see the R1 reactor page, and Wikipedia about R1. See this Google Map link for the location of the entrance to the reactor elevator.

Vasa Museum and Dinner (Thursday, September 5)

At 19.00 on Thursday, September 9, we are delighted to invite you to the Vasa Museum, Stockholm's number one attraction. We will start with a private tour of the ship with a tour guide after closing hours by ordinary visitors. A delightful three-course dinner at the museum will follow the private tour. The museum displays an almost entirely intact 64-gun warship from the 17th century. The ship was built between 1626 and 1628 and sank directly on its maiden voyage in 1628. For more information about Vasa, see the Vasa museum webpage and Wikipedia about the Vasa ship. The museum is located here.
